Villa Badoer
Via G. Tasso, 3 Fratta Polesine
Villa Badoer, known as the Badoera, as it is often called, is located in the centre of the refined town of Fratta Polesine, about 17 km from Rovigo, known for its rich history and precious architecture.
One of the most beautiful manor houses among those belonging to the landed gentry, Villa Badoer was built to a design by Andrea di Pietro della Gondola, known as Il Palladio, by 1556, commissioned by the Venetian nobleman Francesco Badoer.
Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996, the Villa stands out for its visual dominance over the landscape and for its scenic impact, in a constant dialogue between interior and exterior, architecture, decoration and urban-landscape reality.
Sober and refined at the same time, it welcomes the visitor with its noble frescoes: pastoral and mythological scenes, grotesques and allegories, painted by Giallo Fiorentino, frame a marvellous journey through Renaissance art and culture.
Today, Villa Badoer is the ideal venue for many cultural activities, from exhibitions to conferences, events and shows.
