The Ca' Mello Oasis, located along the Sacca degli Scardovari in the Veneto Regional Park of the Po Delta, bears witness to a delta of times gone by, when the old and vanished Po di Camello flowed over the island of Donzella and into the lagoon. Today it is possible to discover its secrets by exploring the trails on foot or by bicycle, immersing oneself in the silence to admire and listen to the sounds of nature, enjoying the relaxing scenery, and experiencing the rural aspects of the delta territory to the full.

In the Po Delta Park, a few kilometres from the Gran Bosco della Mesola, lies the Torre Abate Oasi Naturale tourist complex. Immersed in the green countryside a stone's throw from the Po River, it is just a few metres from the 17th-century Torre Abate, an ancient Este-era water tower. The Oasis is located in a quiet area where you can breathe in a warm atmosphere. The Oasis is an excellent starting point for various itineraries: just a few kilometres away flows the Po di Goro and following its course along the cycle path you can easily reach the small Renaissance town of Mesola, dominated by the massive Este Castle, or you can reach the fishing ports of Goro and Gorino or the Bosco della Mesola Nature Reserve.

The Bosco della Mesola Nature Reserve is one of the last remnants of lowland forest, a reminder of the ancient forests that were found until a few centuries ago along the Adriatic coast and stretched from Aquileia to Ravenna. With a surface area of 1,058 hectares, today it represents the largest wooded area in the Ferrara area.

Of fundamental importance is the presence within the Reserve of a native deer population that descends from the noble deer, called the Dune Deer or Mesola Deer. About 250 specimens live here in a protected manner.

Comacchio, which stands out from the endless reclaimed land thanks to the imposing cathedral towering above it, is characterised by quiet alleys, bridges and colourful fishermen's houses reflected in the canals. Don't be discouraged by the ups and downs of the bridges in the old town, the area is also pleasant to visit by bicycle. The Manifattura is an excellent starting point for excursions into the valleys, a few kilometres separate it from the fishing stations, a perfect blend of history and nature, where you can easily observe numerous bird species, including the beautiful pink flamingos.

The Comacchio Valleys represent an extremely rich ecosystem, and are therefore home to a great variety of birds (over 300 species). The area is an open-air museum. The vast basins of shallow brackish water, interspersed with strips of land covered in halophytic vegetation, are a lure for flamingos, coral gulls and common terns, which nest here.
