Life Transfer

For secondary schools

Life Transfer ‘Seagrass Transplantation for transitional ecosystem recovery’ invites the school world to learn about lagoon habitats and the importance of aquatic seagrasses, with environmental education activities promoted by the Veneto Region Po Delta Park Authority.

The project is aimed at first and second grade secondary schools in the Veneto Region, as well as the Comprehensive Institutes of the nine municipalities of the Po Delta Park. It has the following objectives

  • to improve ecological sensitivity towards lagoon habitats
  • to deepen knowledge of aquatic phanerogams and their importance for the conservation of lagoon habitats;
  • to raise awareness of the problems associated with the regression of aquatic phanerogams in 1150* habitats;

Aqua in this context deals with

  • planning environmental education activities
  • organising lessons at the Porto Caleri Botanical Garden
